CULTURAL AND SOCIAL AMENITIES
The North Okanagan has an immense selection
of cultural and social amenities. Within the region there are
over 70 churches with all denominations of religion represented.
Many service clubs and community organizations are active in the
North Okanagan region as well. In addition
to many galleries, museums, and theatres, the Okanagan Symphony
holds regular performances in Vernon, and the North Okanagan
is also host to numerous concerts, festivals and events throughout
the year.
The Performing Arts Centre
was established in the fall of 2001. This facility has state of
the art lighting and sound systems and well supported back stage
areas. This venue has seating for up to 750 people with orchestra and balcony seating.
